Wexford Volunteer Centre are seeking to appoint a
DEVELOPMENT & PLACEMENT OFFICER
OVERVIEW:
Wexford Volunteer Centre is a service that, matches individuals who
would like to volunteer with organizations which involve volunteers in
their activities. We provide a range of services including
information, consultation, volunteer management training and National
Vetting Bureau administration. Wexford Volunteer Centre is a
non-profit organization funded by the Department of Rural and
Community Development. Wexford Volunteer Centre is part of a network
of twenty-nine volunteer centres and a member of Volunteer Ireland.
REPORTING TO: Volunteer Centre Manager
LOCATION OF POST: Wexford Volunteer Centre, Common Quay Street,
Wexford Town, Wexford.
THE ROLE: The Development and Placement Officer is responsible for
assisting in the development of Wexford Volunteer Centre as a valued,
community centred, one stop service to volunteers and volunteer
involving organizations. They will also offer supports to local
volunteers and volunteer-involving organisations to recruit and place
as required.
THE PURPOSE: This position will focus on promoting volunteering and
civic participation across the whole community of Wexford town and
County. By providing an effective and efficient service to volunteers,
organizations, and the community at large this position will support
the aims and objectives of Wexford Volunteer Centre in line with its
work plan, policies, and ethos.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
* Level 7 or higher qualification in a relevant field or relevant
work experience.
* Minimum of 2 years? experience in the community and voluntary
sector.
* Full clean driver?s license with access to own transport.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Strong IT skills.
